The Allan Labor Government is continuing to deliver for Melbourne’s west with new train stations and planning upgrades for a third – improving safety, accessibility and better connecting locals for years to come.
Public consultation is now underway for the design and naming of our new train station, which will feature dedicated pedestrian and cycling paths, along with 400 car parking spaces as promised. Department of Transport and Planning is currently in the process of planning bus routes in and around the new station.
To have your say on the design and naming of the station check out A new station in Tarneit's west | Engage Victoria or reach out to contact@levelcrossings.vic.gov.au
Work is also underway on the Allan Labor Government’s latest order of 23 VLocity trains – fulfilling the commitment we made at the 2022 election. These brand-new VLocity trains will support the almost 200 extra services we’re rolling out across the V/Line network, and will provide Geelong services with brand-new, accessible, comfortable trains.
Space proofing for further carparks and a bus interchange on the North side will be planned pending future government commitment and funding which I will continue to lobby for. Details of the proposed town centre can be found here: Tarneit North Precinct Structure Plan
Riverdale North Primary School is set to open Term 1, 2025
In Tarneit roads are managed by either the Wyndham City Council or by the Department of Transport and Planning. Our funding for road maintenance has remained steady, having invested almost $7 billion over the past 10 years to maintain and strengthen roads.
