This year I had the pleasure of attending the Africa Day Gala Dinner to mark the 60th anniversary of Africa Day!
Held on the 20th of May, this fantastic evening marks the end of a month of celebrating the founding of the African Union. In Victoria and across the world this day is an opportunity to celebrate Africa’s cultural diversity and connect with the African communities in our area.African Australian community leaders, businesspeople, artists, and individuals are making significant contributions to the spiritual, moral, cultural, social, and economic lives of their communities and the broader community.
This year’s Africa Day theme, “Opportunities in Challenging Times” marks the time for communities to work together in the recovery process, pursue connections, showcase our positive contributions and advocate for more positive outcomes for our communities.
With amazing performances and speeches this was definitely a night to remember.
